This research delves into the current status of Foodborne zoonotic trematode (FZT) infection, focusing on Clonorchis sinensis, while highlighting social and behavioral risk factors in Yen Bai and Thanh Hoa provinces in northern Vietnam. In this study, we understand of the incidence and actual risk of contracting fish-borne trematodes. The research also encompasses an intervention study conducted through health education programs targeting the local population and school children in Yen Bai province, with the control group based in Thanh Hoa province. In addition to community-based investigations, an attempt was made to explore the status of laboratory diagnosis capacity on FZT at provincial and district levels. Lastly, to strengthen the technical expertise in this area, capacity-building for laboratory technicians was implemented, including a specialized training course focused on laboratory diagnosis of FZT.
